This is the latest Newcastle united News as Howe make intent statement on his job as the head coach of the club which he thinks he has done a very good job.

Eddie Howe claims that gaining the Newcastle United job has always been a dream of his and that if Mike Ashley had offered it to him, he would have taken it with both hands.

Thankfully, unlike Kevin Keegan and Rafa Benitez, the former Bournemouth manager did not fall into the grips of the fat controller and wind up utterly undermined and spat out the other end.

Instead, Eddie Howe has been hired at a moment when Newcastle United supporters have a wonderful chance to watch their team improve quickly in the coming seasons.

Indeed, who knows where NUFC may end up…in the very near future…if they continue to improve at the pace of knots that they have under Eddie Howe in the last six months and 26 Premier League matches.

It’s hard to believe that we were still struggling under the deadweights of Ashley and Bruce in October 2021, sinking swiftly than a large stone thrown into the Tyne.

It was an enormous wreck to straighten out when Eddie Howe came in November 2021; the new NUFC owners had made a start, but it was a genuine firefighting job from the outset for both Howe and the new owners, with relegation appearing very much an inevitability to most Newcastle fans.

Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce have collaborated to push Newcastle United to the brink of relegation, with only five points from eleven games and the League Cup out of reach.

Despite winning none of the team’s first fourteen games, Eddie Howe has achieved the unthinkable, becoming the first Premier League manager to achieve Premier League safety.

With five games remaining, he also reached 40 points and safety (the last 18th position in the Premier League will now be 38 points or lower this season).

Newcastle United has previously competed in the Premier League before Eddie Howe:

Played 11 Won 0 Drawn 5 Lost 6 (averaging 0.45 points per game)

    With Eddie Howe

Played 26 Won 12 Drawn 5 Lost 9 (averaging 1.58 points per game)

Eddie Howe’s point average in 26 games would be 60 points in a complete season of 38 games.

However, if you accept that the new head coach needs time to find his bearings and sort out the players, merely simple things like fitness and smart tactics, you’ll understand…

Then, throughout the previous 17 Eddie Howe matches, Newcastle United has amassed 34 points at an average of 2.00 points per match, which corresponds to 76 points over the course of a whole 38-game season.

Nobody is getting carried away, but 76 points would have put you in third place this season and second position in 2020/21.

Newcastle United supporters now have hope rather than expectation… Although, after seeing that thrashing of Arsenal on Monday night, I can’t help but feel that a sense of anticipation is building.

What can’t be denied for all of us as Newcastle United supporters is that the excitement is building, and like the rest of you, I can’t wait for next season to begin.

Eddie Howe deserves a lot of credit for that, and I can’t thank him enough for the work he’s done and what’s about to happen…

Eddie Howe was asked about the approaching summer transfer window by journalists before of the season’s last encounter against Burnley…

“I’ve always believed that you have to be innovative and not grumble or whine about what you’re given” (as a transfer budget).

“A philosophy of making the most of what you’ve got and finding a way to succeed with it” (before then thinking about what other players you can bring in).

“As part of Financial Fair Play, we must have realistic expectations about how much we can spend.”

“Our current income isn’t as high as we’d like it to be in the future, which has an influence on our ability to spend.”

“Those who believe it is a large quantity of money (that will be accessible to spend this summer) are mistaken.

“That doesn’t rule out the possibility of improving the team, but it will have to be done gradually.”

“It won’t happen immediately,” she says, “because we need to diversify our revenue streams.”

    The finest part

“The most rewarding aspect of managing Newcastle United is the influence it has on the community.”

“Seeing the impact on matchday and across the city when we have a good result.”

“Every encounter I’ve had with folks has been incredible.

“I wouldn’t say this shocked me since I had a picture of what it would be like…and that image has been confirmed.”

“I would have sought this job under the previous owner (Mike Ashley) as well.”

“For me, it’s always been about the club; it (Newcastle United) has always been exceptional, and everyone in this city is so passionate about football.”

“I enjoy watching the great impact football can have, but I’m quite hesitant to play because of my introverted attitude.”

“I’ve always been like that; I don’t desire attention.”

    “I maintain a modest profile…

In my life, I don’t require adoration.

“Coaching and attempting to win football matches brings me delight.”

Newcastle United’s realistic target(s) for the 2022/23 season are:

    “Setting goals is always challenging.

“I’d like to perform well in the cup competitions, and we’ll give them our full attention next season.”

    “Improvement is essential…

I understand that this is not the line you want to hear; you (as journalists) want a headline answer, but I can’t (won’t!) provide it.

“In November 2021, we took over a squad that was in a really terrible situation.

“January (transfer window) was important and we have improved the squad.“We need to improve the squad again – we can’t stand still.“However, we are completing in a league that is so difficult and we have no divine right to finish above anybody.“We have to earn that (right).”
