Hugo Ekitike, according to Chronicle Live, wants to be assured of a starting spot right away rather than as a player “for tomorrow” before committing to a transfer to Tyneside.

Although talks about a prospective transition have been continuing for some time, it is understood that a deal – worth roughly £26 million – has now been reached for the guy who turned 20 today.
Not only does Ekitike appear to want assurances about his game time ahead of discussions, but he also wants to know if he’ll be utilized in his preferred role – as a striker – before agreeing to a transfer, according to The Chronicle.
With Howe preferring to play with just one striker and Callum Wilson as our main man, the 44-year-old head coach will have to either change his approach or work out a deal with the two over playing time.
If Wilson’s problems persist, it will be advantageous to have Ekitike on hand to step in for him, but the Frenchman is unlikely to accept a backup role after getting a taste of first-team action last season.
With Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain also interested in the France U20 international, Newcastle must act swiftly and arrange productive negotiations with him this week.
