This is the latest Newcastle united News with Chelsea boss speaking exclusively on Newcastle united target Moussa Diaby which Eddie Howe will love so much.
After a fantastic season in the Bundesliga, the Frenchman is said to be on Newcastle’s radar.
Moussa Diaby is on the run following a brilliant season for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. In 2021-22, the French international came of age, scoring 31 goals in 42 games and raising the ire of European giants in the process.
Newcastle United is rumored to be one of the teams interested in signing the outstanding winger, which includes Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Diaby, along with Patrik Schick, has been the star player for Leverkusen as they finished third and advanced to the Europa League knockout rounds.
The German outfit’s commitment will be tested by a price of roughly £60 million, and the Magpies’ Saudi-backed ownership means financial power is no longer an issue in the transfer market.
As a result, Chronicle Live report has featured what people closest to Diaby have said about him in order to give Magpies fans a taste of what to expect next season…

Thomas Tuchel
When he was in charge of PSG, the current Chelsea manager worked with Diaby for a short time. Tuchel remarked of the youngster, who was only 19 at the time, “Moussa is very fast, able to learn and establish himself.”
After seeing first-team opportunities stifled by the superstar presence of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, Diaby returned the compliment upon his arrival at Leverkusen. “Thomas Tuchel wanted me to stay,” he said in an interview with Goal.
“He told me that I would do well under his tutelage and that he would provide me with sufficient playing time. Tuchel had faith in me from the start. I would never have made it to Leverkusen and the Bundesliga so quickly if it hadn’t been for him.”
Rudi Voller
Voller, the sports director of Leverkusen, has spoken publicly twice about the 22-year-old German great.
“I’m confident Diaby will provide us plenty of delight with his incredible speed and technique,” he remarked after his signing in 2019.
In the wake of speculations tying Diaby to a transfer, Voller admitted that the club may be obliged to sell if a substantial bid came in.
“There is no reason to give up one of our top players (but) we are a club where there is a pain threshold [beyond which we will not be able to hold on to our players],” he told Kicker.
Gerardo Seoane
After clinching Champions League football for next season, Leverkusen manager Gerardo Seoane expressed optimism about keeping his key player.
Diaby and Schick, Diaby’s striking partner, were both linked with transfers elsewhere until Schick signed a new contract last week.
“We know we have fantastic players who can go to the next level,” Seoane added. “With the Champions League, I believe we have acquired a few justifications to keep this squad together for a longer period of time.”
Lukas Hradecky
Diaby’s quickness, according to Bayer goalkeeper Hradecky, has been a crucial element in the team’s success this season.
The possibility of two dangerous French wingers – one of whom is Allan Saint-Maximin – would have supporters salivating ahead of the new season.
“Moussa is a key element in our assault because of his pace,” he told the club’s website.
