Dean Saunders, a former assistant manager at Newcastle United, would want to see Aaron Ramsey wear a Magpies jersey this year.
The Wales international’s alleged £400,000 per week contract with Juventus was cancelled this week, and he is now looking for a new team.
With injuries hampering his time in Serie A and a dismal loan season at Europa League finalists Rangers last season, Ramsey’s career has stagnated in recent years.

In a 13-word statement confirming Ramsey’s exit from Juventus, the Old Lady were as direct as possible: “The consensual termination of the contract that connected Aaron Ramsey to Juventus is official. Success to you, @AaronRamsay!

However, despite his difficulties, Saunders, a fellow countryman, thinks the 31-year-old still has a lot to give before the Qatar World Cup.
“I’d like to see him at Newcastle,” Saunders said on talkSPORT. You should board the train, in my opinion. Maybe Nottingham Forest.
“Many people are unaware that Steve Cooper is Welsh. He’s been a part of the England camp for a while, and he will be familiar with Aaron.
“(Gareth) Bale and Ramsey played together in the Euros during Wales’ match against Turkey, and Ramsey was outstanding.
He has sustained a few wounds. He had a long-lasting effect from breaking his leg in the Birmingham game.
He has a sharp football mind. He travels farther than any other player on the field. Excellent young man, good finisher.
Ramsey spent 11 years with Arsenal, where he appeared in over 350 games and scored 65 goals.
Ramsey and the Magpies were briefly associated in January, and any possible transfer would probably need the club breaking its pay structure.
Eddie Howe’s team is hesitant to do it in the early going under the new ownership.
