Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Aston Villa manager Unai Emery wants to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

The Italian journalist has claimed that Giovani Lo Celso himself is keen on leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Emery, a former Arsenal manager, is pushing for a deal to bring the Argentina international midfielder to Villa Park.

Romano has added that Lo Celso is still waiting to see who becomes the new Tottenham head coach in the summer of 2023.

The £100,000-a-week (SalarySport) 27-year-old is on loan at Villarreal from Tottenham at the moment.

Lo Celso is scheduled to return to Spurs at the end of the season.

Giovani Lo Celso should consider leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Aston Villa

In our view, Giovani Lo Celso should seriously consider leaving Tottenham Hotspur and moving to Aston Villa where he would get to work with Unai Emery.

Emery seems very keen on a reunion with the 27-year-old at Villa Park.

While Lo Celso has not exactly been a massive hit at Tottenham, he is rated highly by none other than the great Lionel Messi.

And we believe that the midfielder would be able to make himself a success in the Premier League under the Spaniard.

Emery knows the Premier League inside out, and if he wants the midfielder, then he will have a plan on how to get the best out of him.

Lo Celso has made 13 starts and five substitute appearances in La Liga for Villarreal this season.

The 27-year-old has scored one goal and given three assists in those games.
