The director of sports at Napoli, Cristiano Giuntoli, has compared the rumoured transfer target of Tottenham Hotspur, Victor Osimhen, to the great player at Manchester City, Erling Haaland.
Norwegian international who joined Pep Guardiola’s team during the summer and has excelled. He’s made playing in the Premier League appear effortless, and if he keeps it up, he may set a number of records.
Victor Osimhen, who Tottenham is interested in, has been compared favourably to Erling Haaland by the film’s director.
For quite some time, Tottenham has been mentioned as a possible destination for Napoli star Osimhen.
Despite having Harry Kane, the club’s indisputable first-choice striker, on their roster, rumours have circulated that Bayern Munich would make a play to recruit the Englishman next summer when he enters the last year of his contract.
Tottenham will do all in their power to retain Kane, but if he leaves, Antonio Conte sees Osimhen as the “perfect alternative,” according to Rudy Galetti.
Giuntoli, director of Napoli, now claims that the Nigerian has been considered a player ‘on par’ with Haaland from the start.
Then he (Haaland) choose Borussia Dortmund, so we went with Osimhen, who we considered to be on par with the Norwegian.
According to TBR, Haaland’s hot start to the season has surprised no one. With 23 goals in 18 games, the Norwegian is almost certain of winning the Premier League Golden Boot.
Osimhen certainly hasn’t had a terrible year. In 14 games played, he has contributed 10 goals and three assists for first-place Napoli (and the rest of Serie A).
We won’t say whether or not Osimhen is “on par” with Haaland; nevertheless, we can say with absolute certainty that the Nigerian is a fantastic striker. Should Harry Kane chooses to leave Tottenham, they, like most other teams, would benefit greatly from his signing.
Napoli will want for a lot more than the £70 million (BBC) they spent for him in 2020, therefore he will be quite expensive.
