Tottenham Hotspur is interested in a deal to sign Milan Skriniar this summer and bring him to the Premier League.
According to a report from the Italian outlet Il Messaggero (via Sport Witness), despite Simone Inzaghi’s desire to keep the center-back at Inter Milan for the upcoming campaign, the Serie A club would be open to selling the 27-year-old for a sum around €65 million (£55 million) during the summer transfer window.

The article goes on to say that Tottenham’s sports director, Fabio Paratici, is rumoured to have been to Italy this week to negotiate prospective deals for both incoming and leaving transfers, with Paris Saint-Germain and Spurs being two of the most interested parties in the Slovakia international.
The case that the 27-year-old would be a terrific addition to the 52-year-existing old’s options at the back is simple to make given how good Skriniar has been for Inter in recent seasons and the fact that Antonio Conte already has a relationship with the defender.

The £58.5m-rated defender was indeed in imperious form for the Nerazzurri during his 32 Serie A appearances under the Italian’s guidance back in 2020/21, contributing to his team’s 12 clean sheets and scoring three goals, in addition to making an average of 0.9 interceptions, 1.5 tackles, 2.7 clearances, and winning 3.5 duels – with a success rate of 52 percent – per game.
With these performances, the centre back—whom Andy Castell and journalist David Amoyal both called “unreal”—averaged an astounding SofaScore match rating of 7.07, placing him as Inter’s seventh-best player during the team’s championship-winning campaign that year.
It would therefore seem to be a very wise move for the Spurs sporting director to also make a £55 million move for Skriniar ahead of 2022/23 – even though it is true that Paratici has already secured the arrival of Barcelona center-back Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan this summer – as the 54-cap international undoubtedly possesses the ability to become the rock upon which Conte builds his Tottenham defence for many years to come.
