Incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino really wants to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, according to a report.
Mauricio Pochettino wants Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane at Chelsea
The Independent have reported that Pochettino has agreed to become the new Chelsea manager.
The former Spurs boss will take over at the Blues at the end of the season.
The report has claimed that among the players Pochettino is interested in signing for Chelsea in the summer transfer window is Spurs striker Kane.
The Independent have reported that Pochettino has discussed with his Chelsea bosses the prospect of signing the £200,000-a-week (The Sun) England international striker.
Summer transfer unlikely
In our view, Chelsea are unlikely to be able to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
We do not think that the Blues will be able to convince Tottenham or Kane to make the move.
Yes, Chelsea are a massive club and Pochettino knows Kane well, but that does not mean that a transfer will happen.
After all, Tottenham and Chelsea are bitter London rivals.
Kane will surely not want to tarnish his legacy at Tottenham by crossing the London divide.
And Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy himself will surely not want to sell his most prized asset to Chelsea and meke the Blues better.
Kane is a Tottenham legend, and while we understand why he would want to leave for a bigger and more ambitious club where he could win trophies, we just do not see him leaving for Chelsea.
