Javi Gracia slammed over Wilfried Gnonto move at Leeds United by Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has suggested Javi Gracia “doesn’t fancy” Willy Gnonto after the Italian was once again on the Leeds United bench.
The 19-year-old has been out of the starting lineup for the last two Premier League fixtures after previously being a mainstay in the side.
Robinson has since slammed the decision from Gracia and claimed Gnotno has been Leeds’ “best-attacking threat” in the 2022/23 campaign.
“No, I don’t think it’s a good call. There’s obviously something there where he doesn’t fancy him,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“He’s been Leeds’ best-attacking threat all season. Every time he gets the ball he’s forward, he’s direct, and his first thought is forward. I don’t see what the manager doesn’t see in him.
“He’s played Crysencio Summerville instead and Brended Aaronson instead and he’s not having the best time at the moment. His form has been up and down and I just don’t understand the manager’s thinking by leaving Gnonto out.
“I think myself and a lot of other Leeds fans are scratching our heads as to why our biggest goal threat hasn’t been playing.”
Despite featuring from the bench, Gnonto managed to register an assist during the 2-2 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion.
The young attacker will be hoping to return to the starting lineup when Leeds face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday (18 March).
