Director of Tottenham Hotspur Fabio Paratici is allegedly back in the race to recruit Barcelona winger Memphis Depay after Fabrizio Romano’s assertions were refuted by an Italian publication.
As they look to support manager Antonio Conte, who has already started his first full season in command of the club, the Lilywhites have undoubtedly been one of the busiest Premier League teams during this transfer window.
The Italians are off to a great start, defeating Southampton 4-1 on the opening weekend. If they can add more talent before the transfer window closes, Conte’s chances of winning this season may increase even more.
It is even said in Italy that Spurs manager Paratici has entered the race to recruit the 28-year-old this summer.
In a report on Juventus’ interest in Depay, La Gazzetta dello Sport asserts that Tottenham has “entered the race” after Paratici allegedly made a “intervention” on Tuesday night amid Juve’s alleged attempts to recruit the Dutchman.
Depay is said to be strongly contemplating a move to Serie A, but he is also intrigued by the prospect of joining Spurs and moving back to England.

According to the statistics, the £158,000 per week star stood out as a crucial attacking player for Barca last season.
Depay had one of the top five greatest performances among their players, according to WhoScored, and attempted their second-highest number of attempts on goal per 90.
In addition, he led the Catalans in league goals (12) and may provide Conte’s team a big boost of firepower. He might even keep Harry Kane busy with games in four different tournaments.
Time will tell whether the connections materialise or whether Romano’s assertions were true.
