According to rumours in Italy today, Arsenal will attempt to recruit French midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
Presently playing for Juventus, Rabiot has long been linked with a transfer to the Premier League. There were rumours in the summer that he wanted to join Antonio Conte at Tottenham. He never really left Turin, thus we may assume that the planned relocation never happened.
However, Calciomercato reports that Arsenal are now interested in acquiring Rabiot. It has been speculated that the Gunners will have a trial with Rabiot.
Man Utd has also been linked to Rabiot. The Mirror, however, said that United were struggling to pay the Frenchman’s astronomical £113k weekly salary.
Rabiot will be joining the French national team in Qatar during the 2018 World Cup. He has been a mainstay in Juventus’ lineup this year, playing all 90 minutes of every game in their recent six-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are expected to have a busy January. Supporters of the Gunners are hopeful that Mikel Arteta will be given the resources he needs to continue to improve the team’s standing by adding new players to the roster. Accordingly, Rabiot may end up being a viable choice.
In the summer, Rabiot’s contract will be up at Juventus, and the club is reportedly asking for roughly £10 million to buy him out.
In TBR’s opinion, Rabiot is living up to his potential
While it may have taken some time, Adrien Rabiot now seems to be reaching the level of play that many predicted he would. Despite his problems, he has been a consistent and effective player for Juventus this season.
Arsenal may be tempted to make a move for him if he has a strong World Cup. He’s 27 years old, which is a fantastic age, and he’s got a lot of experience under his belt and seven league championships to his name.
What Arsenal does with its next few transfer targets is crucial. They’ll be looking for just the perfect actor to play their part. Therefore, Rabiot need to be taken into consideration.
