Chelsea will reportedly look to sell Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the summer transfer window for €25m (£22m), with Newcastle United one of the clubs believed to be interested in the 27-year-old.
According to CalcioMercato, the west London side are set for a squad overhaul at the end of the season with Loftus-Cheek one of many players Chelsea are willing to sell at the right price, though for Newcastle, AC Milan are the current leaders to sign the midfielder.
As per the report, the Rossoneri are already in talks with Chelsea over a potential deal in the summer, though even with a price tag of £22m, Milan could struggle to meet the Blues demands for their Cobham academy graduate, something Newcastle won’t have an issue with.
Lauded as ‘unplayable’ by Rio Ferdinand, Newcastle have been linked with Loftus-Cheek for some time as reported by the Telegraph, and with Chelsea now naming their price that they would sell the midfielder, the Magpies could be spurred on to make a move this summer.

Indeed, Newcastle are keen to add to their midfield in the transfer window as Eddie Howe looks to bring in some much-needed depth to the squad, and Loftus-Cheek would offer just that and more for the Magpies, with the Chelsea man a player who can perform in the Premier League.
However, whilst Newcastle have the finances to beat Milan to Loftus-Cheek, the player himself could be set on a move to Milan, with Serie A a division that has seen the likes of Chris Smalling, Fikayo Tomori and Ademola Lookman thrive in having left the Premier League.
Loftus-Cheek might be a player that splits opinion across the Premier League, but at a club like Newcastle under a coach like Howe, the midfielder could finally unlock his true potential as a superstar in the division, with numerous players on the Magpies’ books reaching the next level under the current coach.
Joelinton and Miguel Almiron have both taken their games to unprecedented heights under Howe, and with Loftus-Cheek a player who could do with a similar kick, Newcastle could land on a bargain if they look to sign the midfielder for Chelsea’s asking price.
