According to a report from Foot Mercato, there is hope among those working on a transaction that Idrissa Gueye will in fact join Everton from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Gueye is no longer a part of PSG’s ambitions at Parc des Princes, hence they want to sell him. And at this window, it appears that he may go back to his comfortable surroundings.
Everton was reportedly in discussions to re-sign Gueye, according to recent reports. Fabrizio Romano pointed out that if the 32-year-old is to return to Goodison Park, PSG demands that his salaries be paid in full.
However, it appears that those obstacles are close to being overcome. The Ligue 1 champions are hopeful of securing a deal with Everton for Gueye, according to Foot Mercato. The midfielder is likely to join the club permanently. And a move could be agreed this week.
Bringing Gueye back for Everton has the potential to be a tremendous coup. Given that he played more than 100 times for the Toffees before leaving for France, he is obviously no stranger to the club.

PSG spent £30 million to bring him to Paris as a result of his performance for Everton. And upon his comeback, Frank Lampard will be trying to regain that type of form.
For a variety of reasons, his tenure with PSG has not been the finest. But before departing, he did become one of the Premier League’s top holding midfielders. During their time spent together on Merseyside, Morgan Schneiderlin referred to Gueye as “wonderful.”
If the transaction goes through, Everton will need it to be successful. Their team continues to appear fragile in several aspects.
The good news is that everyone seems certain that Gueye will now be signed by Everton.
