Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is a big fan of raiding Italian clubs in the transfer market.
So far, it’s paid off brilliantly, with the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero proving to be brilliant additions.
A report from CalcioMercatoWeb suggests he’s now got his eyes set on another target
Conte has never been a manager to settle for what he’s currently got within his squad.
His constant need to improve the players available to him have earned him his fare share of silverware.
At the minute, his midfield pairing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur have been very successful.
The pair have made Spurs a much more solid unit, while also chipping in with the odd goal.
Yves Bissouma’s arrival in the summer increased competition, while Oliver Skipp has a bright future ahead of him.
CalcioMercatoWeb now believe Tottenham are set to offer Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot a contract.
The Frenchman’s current deal runs out in the summer, and he looks set to leave the Bianconeri.
Tottenham to offer Rabiot a huge contract
The Italian outlet have reported that Tottenham are set to offer a Rabiot a deal worth £6.88m a year.
This works out at around £132,000-a-week, and would make him Tottenham’s fifth-highest earner.
He would overtake the likes of club captain Hugo Lloris and Kulusevski in the Spurs payroll.
The ‘excellent’ midfielder is currently having a fantastic time at the World Cup with France.
In the absence of Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante he’s stepped up, and playing fantastically alongside Aurelien Tchouameni and Antoine Griezmann.
He had a connection with the current Spurs hierarchy, as Fabio Paratici was the man who signed him for Juventus.
Paratici will be hoping that relationship will aid negotiations if Tottenham offer Rabiot a contract in the summer.
It would be a real coup to acquire a current French international without having to pay a transfer fee.
CalcioMercatoWeb believe that Rabiot ‘dreams of the Premier League’.
Despite recent interest from Newcastle, Conte and Spurs could be set to make that dream a reality.
