Sources: Tottenham agree Calum Logan signing – he arrives at Hotspur Way
Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign Ipswich Town rising star Calum Logan, sources have told Football Insider.
The 16-year-old England youth defender will join Spurs’ academy ranks for the 2023-24 season.
Logan has been at the club’s Hotspur Way headquarters this week to pen an initial scholarship deal.
The centre-back is regarded by Tottenham as a young talent of “huge” promise who is seen as a future first-teamer.
He made his first appearances for England at age-group level in November 2022 after turning heads with his performances at Ipswich.
Football Insider first revealed Spurs’ interest in the defender last month (29 March) as they step up their youth recruitment.
The Lilywhites have also recently finalised a deal for Man City teenager Herbie James, who signed pre-contract terms in March after reported competition from Everton and Wolves.
Football Insider revealed on 15 April that Tottenham are planning a new swoop for Birmingham City centre-back starlet Rico Browne after previously failing to land him on an 18-month deal.
Browne is also wanted by Man United.
Spurs added to their crop of impressive youngsters with the signing of Sheffield United striker Will Lankshear last summer (2022) – and will pay a reported potential fee of £2million for his services.
The Londoners will hope their latest recruitment drive will maintain their track record of producing stars capable of making the grade in the Premier League.
Oliver Skipp, Japhet Tanganga, Dane Scarlett and Troy Parrott are among the latest stars to graduate from the well-regarded academy.
Spurs are still in the race for Champions League qualification this season ahead of their clash with fourth-place Newcastle on Sunday (23 April).
