Last night, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Clint Dempsey was on a punditry team alongside legendary Arsenal player Thierry Henry.
They were working with former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher to cover the Champions League’s comeback on CBS.
Henry and Dempsey both predicted a team to win the season’s championship, with the Frenchman selecting Manchester City.
Here is how the dialogue went when Dempsey chose his old team Spurs as a dark horse for the tournament.

On Tottenham Dempsey, Thierry Henry said, “I’ll try something new. I’ll go with a long shot. I have no bias at all, although I might choose Tottenham.
Henry and Carragher started giggling.
“Should I leave right away? What?
“Conte’s a winner,” said Dempsey. They may not have had the best Champions League record, but I believe they are the ones. They appear to have become better and better. They performed admirably during the transfer window.
Not that, not that, Henry I’m going to sit like this (turning away). I’m out.”
In order to break Tottenham’s trophy drought, Antonio Conte was brought in, but it would be a major surprise if he achieved it in the Champions League.
It’s a really difficult battle to win, and every year, something unexpected happens.
Of course, Mauricio Pochettino led Spurs to the 2019 final, but that turned out to be the pinnacle of his tenure, and Conte is now attempting to return the team to similar heights.
