Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Tottenham’s pursuit of Pedro Porro and what he’s heard on this subject.
It’s been widely reported for a while now that Porro is Tottenham’s top transfer target this month as they look to bolster the right wing-back position.
However, Gold has heard differing stories from different sources, and some agents have suggested to him that these links to Porro are in fact just a smokescreen and that Spurs have something else lined up.
Porro could be a smokescreen
Gold shared what he’s been told about this situation.
“Even the Pedro Porro stuff. I have been speaking to loads of agents this week and some have told me that they believe that Porro is a smokescreen and that they’re actually going for someone else, but then I’ve had ithers who’ve told me that Porro is the main target and that their going for that. It’s interesting that even some agents have different views on what Spurs’ requirements are and what they need,” Gold said.

The Italian Sporting Director is the master at throwing people off of the scent in the transfer market before pouncing to sign his number one target.
We’ve seen it time and time again at Juventus, and he was at it for Spurs in the summer too.
Whether or not Tottenham are indeed chasing Porro remains to be seen, but it looks as though the right wing-back position is definitely one to keep an eye on when it comes to new additions at Spurs.
