Prior to this weekend’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur has received a tremendous boost.
That’s according to Argentine journalist Gaston Edul, who recently revealed (via All About Argentina) that the center-back has now declared himself ready for the trip to Forest on Sunday despite missing Tottenham’s 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend due to an adductor muscle injury sustained against Chelsea.
“Cristian Romero has already made himself available, feels ready, and wants to play against Nottingham Forest on this Sunday,” Edul added in reference to the 24-year-present old’s health.

Romero has established himself as a key member of the Tottenham team since joining the club last summer, so Antonio Conte will be delighted to hear that the defender has already indicated that he is available for selection this weekend, according to Edul.
The £59m-rated center-back was in command for Spurs during his 22 Premier League appearances last season, helping his team keep five clean sheets and scoring one goal while also averaging 2.8 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 3.3 clearances, 51.9 passes, and 5.9 duels won with a success rate of 62% per game.
In addition to placing him as Conte’s sixth-best performance in the league last time out, these results saw the £165k per week talent average a fairly astounding SofaScore match rating of 7.15. He was also ranked as the joint-31st-best player in the English top division overall.
Since Spurs are now riding comfortably in fourth place and have an undefeated record after three games, Conte will likely be keen for Romero to return this weekend. This would greatly increase Tottenham’s chances of returning home from The City Ground with all three points.
The 24-year-old has also performed admirably in his two league games so far this season, recording an average of 3.5 tackles, one interception, 3.5 clearances, and 8.0 duels won – with a success rate of 64% – per game. Based on these statistics, the Argentina international has an average SofaScore match rating of 7.05.
