A Tottenham Hotspur writer claims that there has been a significant boost to James Maddison’s potential move to Newcastle United.
The midfielder for Leicester City has received significant transfer rumours about Newcastle.
The Foxes have rejected not one, but two proposals from the Magpies.
Time is of the key for Eddie Howe and Saudi Public Investment Fund because United’s most recent bid was approximately £45 million and other teams are interested, including Tottenham, according to 90 Min.

With a top-tier manager at the helm and Champions League football on the table, Spurs pose a real danger to Newcastle in the race for Maddison.

The Lilywhites, who Charlie Eccleshare covers for The Athletic, have reportedly stopped pursuing the England international, according to Give Me Sport.
He stated: “Spurs claim they’re not going for James Maddison, and clearly we’re seeing Newcastle ratchet up their interest, so I think now would be the moment for Spurs to play their hand if they’re interested.”
James Maddison is expected to join Newcastle United
That will have to wait, I guess.
What we may infer is that, as Eccleshare has hinted here, it’s obviously excellent news for Howe and co. if their North London colleagues are not involved.
As already established, Tottenham has enough influence to really threaten Newcastle in this race.
The three teams most frequently mentioned in connection with Maddison are Spurs, the Magpies, and Arsenal.
There isn’t much talk now about Arsenal obtaining him, and if Conte and Fabio Paratici are out of the race, then theoretically leaves the St. James’s Park team’s way pretty open.
