Marc Roca has said on the Fish & Twitch channel for Marca that training at Leeds with Jesse Marsch is so rigorous that there is no time to “relax.” While Marcelo Bielsa’s techniques place a premium on fitness, they emphasise strategy.
Roca, who is just 25, is one of nine new players who were acquired during the summer, but he is only one of five to have seen significant playing time so far. Regulars Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, and Luis Sinisterra pair up with Tyler Adams in the middle of the field.
As a midfielder for Leeds, the Spanish international has been outstanding. In spite of being taken out of the game at halftime against Leicester, he has started every Premier League game so far this season. Only £10 million, such a steal! As a Bayern player, he was having a tough time.
He signs with Leeds, where he will play under a boss who is known for being quite tough on his teams. Some of the incoming players will have experience playing for Marsch, so they will be prepared. However, Roca did not. The narrator shared his thoughts on the effectiveness of training.
Having Marsch as a trainer has been a really exciting and stimulating experience. Constant physical interaction; the level of pressure prevents any respite. It’s true that playing for him is a delight. As a gamer, I am developing and expanding my skillset. To put it simply, I’m at ease.
A lack of ability to’relax’ while training under Marsch is evident, according to Roca. On Saturday, against Liverpool, Aaronson ran an incredible 13.2 kilometres, the highest by any Premier League player this season. The fitness level of the Leeds squad is over the roof.
That’s thanks in large part to Bielsa. The Leeds board, on the other hand, has shown impressive market acumen by signing a number of speedy players. It’s clear that Kristensen, Aaronson, Roca, and Adams all have boundless amounts of vitality.
Add to it the wonderful vibe of the in-house help, and you have a winning combination. This weekend, Roca and Adams will both be eager to exert their midfield dominance for Leeds when they host Bournemouth.
