Thomas Tuchel was displeased with Conor Gallagher’s slow start to the season at Chelsea, according to transfer source Dean Jones, who spoke to GIVEMESPORT.
The Cobham graduate made an impact while on loan at Crystal Palace last season, scoring eight goals and dishing out three assists in 34 Premier League outings. Eagles manager and legendary Arsenal player Patrick Vieira called the player a “manager’s dream.”
The hardworking midfielder, 22, played a total of six minutes in the first two games of the season, but West Ham remained interested in him during the summer, and the two teams engaged in “constant contact.”

The Epson-born superstar was subsequently started by Tuchel in back-to-back games, but in the second one, he was dismissed from the game after receiving two consecutive yellow cards from an opponent.
Tuchel was disappointed, but he continued to believe in Gallagher, starting him against West Ham right away before taking him off an hour later. Video of the incident has now circulated, showing the German coach visibly unhappy with the four-cap England player.
Tuchel was disappointed that it didn’t work because he just wanted it to be honest, according to Jones. Though Gallagher was incredible at Crystal Palace last year, Tuchel was still frustrated and was trying to show faith in one of those young players. Gallagher wanted his chance in this Chelsea team.
Gallagher averaged a 7.08 SofaScore rating last year, but this year he has started with the lowest rating in a Chelsea jersey, a dismal 6.4. He will be hoping he can turn things around under a new manager as he undoubtedly has his sights set on earning a spot on the plane to the World Cup this winter.
