Dejan Kulusevski of Tottenham is a question mark for Saturday’s crucial north London derby after returning from international duty with what appears to be a muscular issue.
Kulusevski, who had started Sweden’s Nations League games against Serbia and Slovenia before the break, got a scan upon his return to the team on Wednesday after complaining of hamstring soreness.
The attacker played the full 90 minutes in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Slovenia, but Antonio Conte will likely deliver an update at his pre-game news conference on Thursday. The forward is now doubtful to play at the Emirates Stadium.
Conte would have been quite concerned about Kulusevski’s absence last season, but the head coach of Tottenham should still be able to call on a front three of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, and Richarlison as Spurs attempt to move into the top spot with a victory against their rivals.
Richarlison scored three goals in Brazil’s friendlies against Ghana and Tunisia, while Son scored in both of South Korea’s games. Son began his season with a scorching hat-trick from the bench in the 6-2 hammering of Leicester the last time out. He carried on his success during the break.

Kulusevski was benched for the three games prior to the match against Leicester, and Conte later said he had broken a pattern by talking to the Swede.
Conte remarked, “I don’t want to explain anything to my players because then I have to talk to one or another one and another one in every game.”
However, I said to Deki, “I think that he deserved to feel that my faith, my confidence, was like always when you went on the bench three times in a row.”
