Tottenham can outdo themselves this summer and sign a top-tier center-back.
With six additions thus far, Antonio Conte and Fabio Paritici have had a successful summer transfer window.
There have been several additions, including Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Djed Spence, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, and Clement Lenglet.
Spurs, though, are seeking to assemble a team capable of competing in the Champions League, so the transfer market may not finish there.
Exits will probably be necessary, but Spurs may also need to bolster important positions. As the new season approaches, the center-back position may be the highest priority.

Spurs have a great chance to sign Pau Torres this summer, but it is unclear who they will turn to in that regard.
Last season, Tottenham attempted to sign Torres, but the player turned them down after having accepted their price.
Torres made the smart choice to stay in order to represent his local team in the Champions League, and the Spaniard helped the Yellow Submarine advance to the semi-finals.
Villarreal surprised everyone by making it to the penultimate round. After winning the Europa League, they nearly reached the Champions League final and gave Liverpool a fright with a comeback in the second leg.
Villarreal has made it very obvious that they will recognise Torres’ contributions to the team by letting him depart for a reasonable price this summer.
It will be up to Torres to decide on his future, just as last summer, but demand has decreased a little.
Though it was expected that Manchester United would make a bid, the Red Devils have instead chosen to sign Ajax star Lisandro Martinez.

Torres doesn’t seem to be a priority for Chelsea as they search for another center-back; instead, they have resorted to Kalidou Koulibaly.
Antonio Rudiger was promptly acquired by Real Madrid, leaving Juventus.
Juventus was expected to make a deal for Torres in the wake of Matthijs de Ligt’s transfer to Bayern Munich, but they have now made a move for Gleison Bremer instead.
That gives Tottenham the opportunity to pursue Torres, who is considered as one of Spain’s top centre backs.
The left-footed defender has a release clause of about £51 million, and Tottenham will be trying to outdo themselves this summer by persuading Torres to accept a transfer.
