Tottenham are really busy in the transfer market as they prepare to announce another major signing in coming days.
According to Sport, Tottenham are now the favourites to acquire Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet and are hopeful of coming to a deal with him soon.
Lenglet is said to be one of Spurs’ top targets this summer as they want to add a left-sided center-back (The Athletic).

According to a recent report from ESPN, Barcelona has been trying to talk the 27-year-old into considering a transfer to Spurs because he is no longer needed there.

Even if the Blaugrana are eager to complete a permanent transfer, they would be satisfied to loan him out as long as his entire wage is paid, according to Mundo Deportivo (21/06/22 via Sport Witness).

According to a recent update from Sport, Tottenham is now the “solid candidate” to conclude a Lenglet loan deal, with Barcelona now concentrating on getting him to transfer to north London.
Lenglet is anticipated to receive a smaller salary than what he now receives at the LaLiga club, and it is claimed that Spurs are seeking to finalise the transfer in the upcoming days.
Given that Spurs aren’t making any commitments, Lenglet on loan wouldn’t be the worst option, but it also wouldn’t be the greatest.
It may be a backup plan if they are unable to finalise transfers for other players, but it is still early in the window, so we must continue to watch to see what happens.
