According to Sky Sports News, Atletico Madrid might make a bid for the Brazilian, with the Los Colchoneros reportedly having a long-term interest in the former Real Betis player.
Atletico Madrid’s interest in Emerson was confirmed by AS, who reported that Diego Simeone’s team is trying to recruit the right-back on a loan deal with a purchase option.
According to the Times, Antonio Conte has given the go-ahead for Emerson to be sold, with the Italian wishing to bring in a’more comfortable playing forward’ right-back.
Spurs, though, would want a price of £22 million to allow the former Real Betis player to leave the club, according to the source.
Emerson’s worth hasn’t diminished since last summer, and he’s proved himself to be a capable right-back in a back four.
Spurs’ problem in collecting a reasonable sum for the 23-year-old will be that not many La Liga clubs have money to throw about right now.
