This is the latest Tottenham News with Antonio Conte stoping the movement of star player transfer away from the club after fee already agreed.
Steven Bergwijn’s planned summer transfer to Ajax has been put on hold by Tottenham manager Antonio Conte, who wants to recruit another player first. Bergwijn’s 2.5-year stay in north London will come to an end thanks to a contract previously reached between the two clubs.
Bergwijn made a splash after arriving at Spurs in January 2020 in a £25 million transfer from PSV Eindhoven, scoring on his debut in an unexpected 2-0 victory over Manchester City.
The 24-year-old will, however, return to the Eredivisie once Conte approves the trade because he is no longer needed under Conte.

Bergwijn’s transfer to Tottenham from Ajax reportedly has a “already-agreed” price of €25 million (£21.5 million), but Spurs are now attempting to add some conditions to the agreement to raise the total sum of money offered to the Dutchman to €30 million (£25.8 million), according to a recent report from AD via Sport Witness.
Conte is also eager to make a second new acquisition before giving the go-ahead for Bergwijn’s exit. Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, and Yves Bissouma have previously been acquired by the Londoners on the transfer market, where they have been active.
Although the transfer has been postponed, there doesn’t seem to be any indication that Conte’s plan to move Bergwijn to Amsterdam is in any danger of falling through.
