This is the latest Tottenham News around the globe with Spurs’ player giving their head coach Conte a food for thought as Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp forget his pleasantry towards the Spurs’ team.
Tottenham’s tactical discipline at Anfield will have given Antonio Conte something to think about as he considers what he can expect from his team next season.
Conte and Spurs are fully aware of the importance of adding talent to their already-thin squad this summer, especially after three academy graduates were forced to sit on the bench against Anfield due to four injuries.
Spurs anticipate the Italian to stay in charge next season, not just because he has a contract, but also because they want to build on what he has already accomplished.
Spurs are now certain of a top-five finish for the first time since 2019, and they are expecting to go much farther.
It’s difficult to see what better choices Conte has at the present than building on the foundations he created at Tottenham in the previous six months.
With Mauricio Pochettino reportedly being dismissed of his duties, the PSG position is now the only large one anticipated to come available in the summer.
Conte would be an unusual fit for PSG, where winning the Ligue 1 championship is the least required and Champions League success is desired.

Despite his title victories, Conte has a bad record as a manager in Europe’s best club tournament, having won just three of his last 15 matches in it.
Conte will also miss the weekly tactical fights in the Premier League, admitting ahead of Saturday’s encounter that England’s top division has evolved into what Italy’s was during his playing days – the place where all the best players go and the greatest teams compete.
Many of the top managers travel there, and Conte clearly enjoys pitting himself against Klopp, Guardiola, and the rest.
He enjoys these matches and would not be able to find them in the French league’s bread and butter. He spent the whole week preparing his team to play Liverpool, and it showed.
Conte’s current side shown on Saturday at Anfield, in the noisiest of football cauldrons, that they can calmly carry out his orders to the letter, and they should have gone away with the win against a club that has only lost twice this season.
Conte’s players are starting to play in his image; imagine what they may do with a complete pre-season under his guidance and the correct summer additions?
Spurs had hoped for more than a point on Saturday and have now entrusted their fate to Arsenal, but they are the first club to prevent Jurgen Klopp’s side from winning in the Premier League at Anfield since October last year, halting a 12-match winning streak in front of the Kop.
This season, none of the championship contenders have been able to overcome Tottenham, with City losing both home and away to the north London club and the Reds drawing all of their meetings with Conte’s men.
Anfield was deafeningly loud at moments, especially at the opening of both halves and towards the conclusion of the game, as Liverpool sought the three points they needed to stay in the championship hunt.
Spurs may have panicked, given in, and lost their focus in the past due to the din. There have been several collapses against Premier League heavyweights, not least at Anfield, but this Tottenham side provided Conte with the warrior mindset he seeks.
Every single player was entirely committed to Conte’s philosophy and was obedient to him. Hugo Lloris was rarely challenged, his gloves only warmed up twice with easy saves, and it required a deflected attempt from Luis Diaz to get past him.
Tottenham’s back three was outstanding. Ben Davies threw his body in front of the ball at every opportunity, reaching shots he had no right to.
Alongside them, the teenage wing-backs, who had both been heavily criticized in recent weeks, delivered tactically outstanding displays.
Ryan Sessegnon scarcely allowed Mohamed Salah an inch, and when he did, he used his ‘professional’ sense to pull the Egyptian back, earning him a yellow card.
The 21-year-old also provided an assist for Son Heung-goal, min’s demonstrating his speed up and down the left flank before settling down to find his teammate.
Emerson Royal, on the other hand, had his greatest game in a Spurs shirt thus far. The Brazilian is always better when he can focus more on defense, but this performance was exceptional.
He had won each of his four attempted tackles, five clearances, five ball recoveries, and seven of his eight ground duels.
He had 73 touches on the ball, indicating an active and productive evening.
Spurs’ defense had the travelling supporters on the edge of their seats all night by following Conte’s instructions to play out of defence and pass around Liverpool’s strong press rather than going long with their passes. The game strategy worked, with the exception of one mishandled pass.
Tottenham’s much-lauded assault, on the other hand, let the team down significantly, since the team had plenty of opportunities to win thanks to Klopp’s “crazy counter-attacking.”
Tottenham had eight shots on goal, three on targets but they had other moments when swift breaks would have put an attacker through on goal if there had been a better final ball, Harry Kane culpable on a number of occasions when those through balls have been his forte this season.
The worst miss of the night came from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who had otherwise been superb in Spurs’ engine room, but he sent a late unmarked header right in front of Alisson from Harry Winks’ cross neither at goal nor across to the also unmarked Kane, instead sending it backwards.
Tottenham have lost just one of their last eight Premier League games, winning five of them. I think we didn’t concede great chances to Liverpool to score.
Tottenham have lost just one of their last eight Premier League games, winning five of them, and Conte has something of a hold over Klopp, having lost only one of his six Premier League encounters with Liverpool and he remains unbeaten against them at Anfield in the competition.
By the time he had come into his press conference, Klopp was not in the mood to praise Tottenham’s defence for their efforts against his side when asked if they had impressed him. “I’m sorry I’m the wrong person for that, I don’t like this kind of football, but that’s my personal problem.
Klopp would love every team to play gung-ho football against his side, but he knows that with the quality of his players on the break themselves that would be football suicide.
As Klopp says, it’s his problem, because he’s failed to beat Spurs twice this season, he has not found a way around them and on both occasions the north London club had enough chances to win the encounter.
Instead Conte devised a game plan that worked perfectly and should have brought all three points.
If anything, the Liverpool boss should be thankful for that Spurs game-plan because it took six points away from Manchester City this season – accounting for two of their three defeats – and would likely have gifted Klopp’s side the title had they been able to beat Tottenham themselves just once.
Thursday night brings another big game full of pressure and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could well be noisier than Anfield as the fans play their part in a huge north London derby.
