In a view with how the blues will get back to shape for the upcoming matches after the winter break, we take a closer look on how the head coach might try out some untested partnership in the squad to bring out the best from the players.
So, with a return for Reece James after some weeks outside the football due to injury, but not yet back to fitness as he recovers from hamstring injury. However, the 22yr old will be available for the club world cup actions in mid February 2022.
The right back absence in the squad has seen the blues chose to try out many option at the back, including using a back four system Tuchel is not used too, which open the way for other players to come in and help such as Malang Sarr, Halvey Vale.
Malang Sarr on the other end has improved so well and impressed Thomas Tuchel throughout his appearance for the club from December to January better than any other player in the squad. With his recent performance should send a note to Tuchel into bringing out another dimension of untested partnership.
It would be will pleased to see Reece James on the right back area and Malang Sarr on the other left back area.
Of course, it would be great to see that, but when Chiwell make his returns to the team, Thomas Tuchel will like to revert back into his favoured position. It’s so clear on how we see the important use of Chiwell and James in the wingback position as they provide great attacking width and secure any threat from opposition.
But, as we stand Chelsea needs to find the perfect solution to the absence of Chiwell before the rest of the season.
New combination of full backs can be the success
Restoring James back into the starting line up is very crucial as he returns fully fit, because he has more experience of impressing as a right back.
On getting, James back, Malang Sarr can give a great balance to the back four on the other left flank with his defensive capabilities.
This partnership will give James the ultimate acceleration to team up with the attacking players in the high end of the pitch with Malang Sarr covering up at the back with others to make a back three.
Sarr breakthrough to the team recently shows he’s good enough for Tuchel to allow the left back to move a bit high up the pitch, and would be great to see he’s development if given more minute in the line up. However the French player has become a fan favorite sure to his place and agression on the field of play.
