Gabriel Jesus out for a month ahead of Arsenal clash v West Ham United
West Ham United could have been given a major boost ahead of their return to Premier League action against Arsenal with Gabriel Jesus likely to be missing for the Gunners.
Brazilian news outlet Globo has revealed (3 December) Jesus is out of the World Cup in Qatar, with the Arsenal striker set to be sidelined for a month. The Hammers are set to travel to The Emirates on 26 December, and it now seems unlikely for Arsenal’s main man to feature.
It’s certainly a baptism of fire for David Moyes’ side, with the table toppers looking in imperious form in the 2022/23 season. It’s crucial for the West Ham boss to get his side back into form, with the pressure really starting to mount after a dismal start to the campaign.

He will be looking to capitalise on Jesus’ absence, with the 25-year-old being such an important part of Mikel Arteta’s winning machine. The Hammers need to start picking up points and fast, with the board sticking behind the Scot for the time being.
However, two or three more poor performances could well see the 59-year-old relieved of his duties at the London Stadium. The board are expected to stand by Moyes, but their stance could easily change with January looking like a make-or-break month.
If performances improve, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the club invest in the transfer window to try and salvage something from this season. It’s time for the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta to stand up and show they can deliver in a Claret and Blue shirt.
