Aston Villa has entered the hunt for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, but if they want to acquire him, they will have to beat out Premier League rivals Leicester City.
According to Football Insider, the Ivory Coast international is “on the radar” of several teams as the summer transfer season enters its closing weeks, although the Villans and Foxes are now in the lead.
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and most recently Manchester United have all been interested in signing Sangare in previous years. However, according to the site, both Villa and Leicester have lately inquired about Sangare’s availability.

The 24-year-old, who plays defensive midfielder mostly, has three years left on his current contract with PSV in the Netherlands and will want a transfer price of almost £20 million.

If the claret and blue are able to sign him, he might end up being one of the last pieces in Steven Gerrard’s summer jigsaw and reinforce a midfield that has already been strengthened by the signing of Boubacar Kamara.
With one prospective arriving comes one potential departing, Chukwuemeka to the Toon Elsewhere.
Carney Chukwuemeka’s Villa Park contract dispute is still open, and as a result, his future is uncertain.

The teenager has been extensively connected with moves to European powerhouses AC Milan and Barcelona, but more lately, The Athletic reports that Eddie Howe and Newcastle United are also ‘closely monitoring’ his situation.
Villa has set a £20 million price tag on the 18-year-old, but teams are reluctant to pony up the cash since they know they could get him for about £400,000 in less than a year.
