Ludwig Augustinsson, a full defender for Sevilla, will join Aston Villa on a season-long loan with a purchase option.
The 28-year-old, who moved from Werder Bremen last summer, has 46 Swedish caps and 19 La Liga matches.
After Matt Targett moved to Newcastle, he will provide first-choice left-back Lucas Digne some competition on the left side of the field.
Villa will add Augustinsson as their sixth summer acquisition.
The Swede’s work visa must be secured before the contract can be finalised.

Former Sevilla teammate Diego Carlos and Marseille free agent Boubacar Kamara have already joined Villa, and Philippe Coutinho and Robin Olsen have sealed permanent transfers from Barcelona and Roma, respectively.
The Swedish defender Ludwig Augustinsson will spend the upcoming season on loan with Sevilla, according to Aston Villa.
For LaLiga team Sevilla past season, 28-year-old Augustinsson made 27 appearances in all competitions, including the Champions League and Europa League.
On their official website, Villa stated: “Aston Villa can confirm that the club and Sevilla FC have come to terms for Ludwig Augustinsson’s season-long loan. The footballer has started the application procedure for a work permit.
In three Nations League games last month, Augustinsson, who has made 46 senior appearances for Sweden, played the entire 90 minutes.

He joined LaLiga in the summer of 2021 from Bundesliga team Werder Bremen and has only played there for one season.
Diego Carlos, a fellow Sevilla defender, Boubacar Kamara, and Robin Olsen were all acquired by Villa last month, and Philippe Coutinho’s loan from Barcelona was converted to a permanent transfer in May.
