Jurgen Klopp has clear the air this morning about the premier league title truimph and hope maybe a miracle can work but can’t catch up with City again.
Despite their 2-0 win over Leicester City on Thursday, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claims they will not be able to catch Manchester City.
In the title chase, the German believes his club does not yet have the Premier League winners “on their knees.”
At Anfield, Diogo Jota scored twice in each half as the Reds closed to within nine points of City with a game in hand.
“To be honest, I don’t think we’re in a position to get them on their toes,” he remarked.
“Actually, we have no chance of catching them, but that doesn’t mean we won’t give it our all this season.”
“We have to win our football games first and foremost, because this club is big.” Since I’ve been here, I can’t recall a game where everyone said, “Yeah, we can lose that game,” so it’s always the same circumstance.
“There’s a game; we put on our shirts and must win.” It doesn’t always work out, but it has done so on a couple of occasions.
“It was crucial for us to win tonight because there’s not only Man City to catch or anything; there are a lot of teams behind us that want to reduce the gap, and that’s a very important duty as well.”
“I don’t think they can smell our breath yet, but all we care about is winning football games.”
The fans won’t be surprised by the end of the season, to see the reds finish second place to leaders City.
