Unai Emery explains ‘best feeling’ amid stunning Aston Villa form
The manager spoke at length about his experiences as a coach and detailed how he’s loving life at Bodymoor Heath.

Unai Emery says when it all comes together, like it is at Aston Villa right now, it is the “best feeling as a coach”.
Villa’s form has been sensational under the Basque manager with the club winning five and drawing one of their last six games. Only Arsenal (2.4) and Man City (2.1) have a better points-per-game ratio than Emery’s Villa (2.0) since the ex-Villarreal man’s appointment back in October.
Emery, 51, was asked if there was a particular time in his glittering career when he was at his happiest, and said: “I am feeling very good as a coach when I can see the players face to face, believing and trying to be demanding in our demands of them.
“All coaches are coaching the team and I like to watch different teams. My best moment is when you feel the team are comfortable with the idea you are putting to them and when the players are believing and helping this idea.
“The process is very difficult. Every day I am working hard and telling myself I am a privileged man, and I will enjoy it every day.”
Pushed on which particular experience is his most-fondest in his 19-year, nine-club managerial career thus far, the Villa boss replied: “In my career I got different success, the second division in Spain with Almeria, in Lorca, in Valencia I played Europe for the first time, in Sevilla I won, in PSG I coached the best players in the world, in Arsenal I enjoyed it a lot and learned a lot about the Premier League.
“With Villarreal I got very good success with the team and players. Here I am comfortable with the work we are doing. I am very happy with the owners, the supporters, the players and everybody here working.
“My job here is to enjoy the training ground and at the end of the day I am doing a workout and feel better!”
